Wow this video is really nice. It fits the song perfectly. Drake just leaked this late last night over at OVO. “Marvin’s Room” is probably my favorite of the three recent track’s he’s leaked. Mainly because I can relate to it somewhat. The video is set at a bar where Drake is hitting up some chick while he’s totally drunk. I love how they decided to use the Chopped & Screwed version at one point. It fit the story very well. Take Care is coming out later this year, let’s hope Drake continues to hit us with great music in the meantime.
At this point Recovery has been in stores for more than a year. Way back in February we were hinted at the final video off the album, “Spacebound.” Months passed and nothiing ever surfaced. The stills that were released looked really dope and stans like me were debating on internet forums if it would ever come out. We finally all agreed that if it wasn’t released in June then it probably wouldn’t ever come out. As soon as people started to give up on it the Director of the video let us know that it would indeed be coming in a couple of days. Then Eminem tweeted about it and our anticipation grew even more. The video ended up leaking a couple of days early but the official release was Friday on iTunes and yesterday on Youtube. All I can say is the video is more than we asked for. It’s probably one of his best shot music videos since “Stan.” The story it tells is very eerie. It features Eminem and his alter ego, both dating Sasha Grey at the same time. Watch the video to see how it all plays out.
So this video was premiered during the BET Awards that nobody really bothered watching. It’s off DJ Khaled’s upcoming album, We The Best Forever. Khaled has never had amazing albums but they’ve really been getting worse. This song is dope but looking at the tracklist very few of the other songs look impressive.
DJ Khaled – I’m On One (feat. Drake, Rick Ross & Lil Wayne)
Extreme late pass on this one. Sorry if I ain’t been on the ball as of late. Here’s a new Curren$y video straight off his new album, Weekend at Burnies. It just hit stores today, so go pick it up if your a fan of Hot Spitta. This video is pretty cool and it fits the story well. Basically the song is about a married woman who’s only with Curren$y for the sex. In the end her man who’s “not doing it right” finds out.
I just posted the single and now here comes the Music Video. I didn’t even know they had one lined up but that’s cool. As I stated previously, Follow Me Home should be a really good album. I’m glad to see Strange Music signing more West Coast artists and actually releasing their albums. Brotha Lynch’s albums have been very on point. Make sure you go out and support Jay Rock on July 26th. The album already has confirmed features from The Game, Rick Ross, Tech N9ne, and of course Kendrick Lamar.
Jay Rock – Hood Gon Love It (feat. Kendrick Lamar)
Here is a random Common track straight off NO I.D.’s latest EP, Cocaine 80s: The Pursuit. It’s always great to hear Common over some NO I.D. I was just bumping Resurrection the other night. That album is more than a classic. Common’s currently working on his The Dreamer, The Believer album which will feature a slew of NO I.D. beats.
I meant to post this after catching this on 2Dope a couple of days ago. It’s off Big Pooh’s latest mixtape, FatBoyFresh Vol.1: For Members Only. I got a chance to listen to it earlier and its full of dope music. Download it here if you haven’t heard it. This video is really ill. The opening scene is funny as hell and reminds me of something I would do. I love they made the whole video revolve around Pooh’s favorite spots to eat.
I never thought I’d really be saying this but Limp Bizkit is officially back to their original form we all loved. In early 2008 Fred Durst announced that their main guitarist, Wes Borland would be returning for their new album. Last year they started regaining some of their buzz, especially after their single, “Why Try” was put out by Durst. My hopes of this album heightened when I heard their second leak from the album, “Shotgun.” It was everything that I loved from the original Limp Bizkit I grew up listening to. Then the album leaked and I was blown away. Gold Cobra is definitely worth picking up this Tuesday. True fans should purchase the Deluxe Edition at Best Buy as it features four extra tracks. Here’s their first video from the album, shot from the albums title track. It’s everything we loved in the old Bizkit vids. Mark June 28th on your calendars folks cause your in for a ride.
Earlier in May I posted the single for this, now I’m posting the video. “Lay Em Down” is the one Styles and Jada collabo we look forward to on every Jada and/or Styles project. Every time they collaborate they make something special. This song is of course nothing less. Jada’s latest mixtape/album, I Love You (A Dedication To My Fans) is currently available for free download or purchase. You decide how you want it.

A lot of people slept on Gist’s latest tape, Gistmatic. As the title suggests, it was a tribute to Nas’ classic Illmatic album. While it may not have topped Elzhi’s latest, he certainly holds his own on the tape. He definitely proves that he’s hungry and ready to murder wack emcees bar for bar. Here’s the latest video for it. This time he’s rapping over “The World is Yours.” Also don’t forget to check out the original mixtape trilogy he put out. I recently posted them all on JustDipset. All three volumes are extremely rare.
Wow can we get a studio version of this please? Other than the couple of flubs by Budden this freestyle is hot. It’s really good to see that they got these two great lyricists on board to promote Beats by Dre. Sometimes I sit here and wonder can this be life? Are record companies finally realizing that the majority of true hip hop listeners want more lyricism? I sure as hell hope so. At this point I can probably only listen to 2 or 3 songs on the radio. Sadly enough there’s a lot of bullshit in between. Shoutout to Slaughterhouse for keeping it real though, let’s hope their album puts up decent numbers on Shady.
Drake has been hard at work on his upcoming album, Take Care. A couple months back no one really knew where he was as we were hearing fewer and fewer songs from him. But now he’s been giving us a steady stream of new music to get us ready for the new album. Drake was quoted as saying “Did my own little thing using some other thing I did. You know.” about this song. The other thing he’s referring to is his single with DJ Khaled, “I’m On One.” This song is just as good as his last and I’m really hyped for his next album.
DJ Absolute just got two dope rappers to collaborate on a track he had named “Jungle.” I’m not really sure what project he plans to put this on but its a good song. Royce is currently putting his finishing touches on his upcoming album, Success is Certain which will be released August 9th. Styles P is also working on his 4th studio album entitled, Master of Ceremonies. I’m definitely looking forward to both of these.

This is probably the first time I’ve ever posted a song from Jay Rock on here. I’m really not interested in too many west coast rappers to tell you the truth. Jay Rock is certainly talented though. I’m really excited for his Strange Music debut, Follow Me Home, which drops July 28th. Strange has a really good knack for production as well as talent so it should be pretty decent. It also helps that the first track I’ve heard from it features Kendrick Lamar and is produced by the J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League.
Here’s J. Cole’s first single off the upcoming album which is still untitled. According to Cole it’s supposed to drop towards the end of the summer. This song has a sample from Kanye’s “Workout Plan” song and for some reason Cole had trouble getting the sample cleared. Well it finally cleared and he released it for the good folks tonight. This song is great it uses the sample better than I originally thought it would. Let’s hope it does well on the charts and Cole gets a final release date.
Today Kendrick unleashed his brand new single from #Section80. It features legendary Wu-Tang member, RZA. This song is definitely on par with “HiiPowerr.” On first listen I was already feeling it. #Section80 actually drops July 2nd. If it’s anything like his Overly Dedicated mixtape then we should be in for a treat. For those interested in all things Kendrick Lamar, follow him on twitter. We’ll definitely continue to post his music.
Kendrick Lamar – Ronald Reagan Era (His Evils) f. RZA
50 Cent was all over the place yesterday on twitter. At first he said his album isn’t coming out this year. Then he jokingly said his album was coming out when Detox does. A couple hours later he said he would be releasing a song off the album. Then he had Flex premier the single. “Outlaw” is pretty dope but I don’t really know if I’d call it single material. I’m guessing it’s mostly just a buzz track. Nonetheless it’s pretty dope. 50′s yet to be officially titled album really doesn’t have a release date at the moment. I’ll keep you updated when it does though.
Earlier this year Wingspan released his first single off Growing Wings, “Hopeless.” A couple remixes followed. Now it’s time for him to drop his second single. “Wait a Minute” is a lot more personal than “Hopeless” in my opinion. Whether he’s talking about struggles with his parents or his past addiction to drugs he keeps it interesting. Copywrite did a great job on the beat and Wingspan killed the chorus. I feel like there are a lot of great rappers but very few are able to make great choruses that fit their rhymes. Wingspan is able to do both. Growing Wings finally drops June 30th. It will be available on iTunes, Amazon, Bandcamp, and several other avenues. It has features from rappers like: Copywrite, TreaZon, and Frank Ramz. Follow Wingspan on Twitter. Also don’t forget to check out his new blog.

“I don’t know why I’m this way is it my distant parents,
And If I die to day would you notice my disappearance”
This week’s video is from the one and only Hova. Continuing the New York theme I decided to pick “Show Me What You Got” from his Kingdom Come album. This is a perfect summer joint to ride too and the video is really fun. I thought it was awesome how he got Dale Earnhardt Jr. as well as Danica Patrick as major parts of the race that took place at the beginning. I really feel like Kingdom Come is an underrated album of his. Sure it may not be better than some of it’s predecessors but its still got a very good selection of music. Everytime I hear it, I find myself enjoying it more.
It’s been a while since I posted anything from Mickey Factz. It’s not that I don’t like him, I just really haven’t been paying attention to anything he’s been doing. Well this new song came out today with such an interesting title that I couldn’t pass up giving it a listen. As you probably already guessed (or should have) “Letter to Sonic” is Factz story about Charles Hamilton. It’s not a diss song at all just a open letter inviting him back to the game. Recently Charles has been involved with legal troubles as well as multiple stints to Rehab. His whereabouts are currently unknown and while we do hear a couple songs from him every now and then, most of them are unreleased. We wish Charles would come back with some more dope mixtapes. Maybe this song will give him the motivation he needs.
